Walking 

The opportunities to put on your boots and explore are endless - either from just outside the door of your cottage or further afield to include Pen y Fan, Sugar Loaf and the  Black Mountains.

Cycling

The Brecon National Park is fast becoming a mecca for cyclists both on and off road. Explore the Taff Trail by following disused railway lines and traffic free trails, or for the more adventurous there are 14 graded single track moutain bike routes, ranging from Yellow through to Killer Black.

Multi Activity Centre

Nearby Llangorse  and its lovely Lake is the setting for an extensive multi activity centre www.activityuk.com.  Here you can enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities, ranging from indoor rock climbing and abseiling to outdoor BMX, Aerial Zip Lines, Pony trekking, riding and hacking.

Red Kite Feeding 

Observe a true spectacle when large numbers of red kite come down to feed at Gigrin Farm Rhayader.  An absolute treat for photographers and great fun for all.

Brecon Mountain Railway

Travel back in time and enjoy a wonderful vintage steam train journey through the beautiful National Park.

The local farm shop and venison centre is a must to visit for local produce including Talgarth Bread and is about 5 minutes away on the A40 towards Brecon 

Monmouth to Brecon Canal

Enjoy the peace and tranquility of a walk along the towpath of the canal, with more wildlife than people:  swans, kingfishers, herons and buzzards are all regular visitor.  Or if you fancy actually taking to the water then there are boats to hire http://www.beaconparkdayboats.co.uk/

Pubs within walking distance

A brisk half hour walk from the cottages will take you into Llangynidr up and onto the canal and onto one of two pubs either the Red Lion or the Coach and Horses.
